Two deer.......

were wandering the streets last night... the dogs were on high alert and since i hadn't seen them yet, i wondered what was running down the street... was it kids or a dog? i could just hear clattering on the pavement.... as our walk became a 'drag' and the puppies were anxious to sniff everything, it became apparent that whatever it was, must be exciting for the nostrils... on the way back they both stopped at the edge of bonnie jean's garden and pointed in the direction of a particularly dark corner...... and there were the deer... peeking out behind her raised bed... no doubt munching on something tasty....
the weather this morning has taken a turn for the worse... barometric pressure is dropping... rain soon to arrive... and perhaps the last wind storm of the winter season.... woohoo :D

just saw on t.v. a feline kidney transplant.... hmmmm $10,000.00 for the operation... what disturbs me is that they used a cat that was in a shelter... in return for the good kidney, the cat gets to have a home.... something about that, just doesn't strike me as being right.... money talks i guess....

A Taylor's Barograph.....

is in my possession... its a pretty cool machine... unfortunately requires electricity... so maybe only good for winter use... i'm giving it a trial run... and it works!!! went to the Flea Market in Waldport, with Bonnie Jean.... it's always a source of amusement if nothing else... i didn't see anything that perked my interest, and was waiting for ms bonnie jean to finish her puttering around... looked in the 'goodie' case, and there it was... just screaming to come home with me....i'm always a sucker for quirky stuff... next i'd like a wind/gust recorder of some sort.... i remember as a kid, my parents friend had one, was very cool on a windy night... watching to see how high the gusts got... i read somewhere that canadians are notorious weather watchers... i'm right there with them... nothing like a good thunderstorm or snow storm to get the heart rate going :D ..... so i poked in Taylor's Barograph in Google... and up popped one for sale... $145.00... i paid $45.00... i don't feel so bad now....
been on several excursions of late... thought i'd post a couple of the pics....wandered over to Beaver Creek Rd... on the north side of the Alsea river....

i think i'm in spring mode... my 'grass' roots are showing

i'd have like to gotten closer, but there were 'things' in the barn.. generally ppl don't mind you photographing old barns.. but the contents are a different matter... politeness is the best route... in my estimation anyways....

i took other photos but nothing really spoke to me... i kinda like this one...... some sort of watery plant that was doing a gentle dance with the current....
added a new Blog... thanks to my friend Pat.... Idleworm... LOTS of cool info, fun to read ...

I heard....

a flock of canada geese.... in the fog... flying north.... spring is coming...

I saw........

a van... parked across the street... surfboard and owner... sleeping .... well at least until ms dora gave a 'good morning and why are u parked here' woof.... the occupant stirred sat up long enough to observe some old lady with her 2 scruffy dogs.. and down he went ... back to dreaming... perhaps of surf and women.... perhaps thats where that saying in the restaurant world came from... Surf and Turf.... testosterone heaven... LOL....
anyways... seeing the van led me down memory lane... right to wondering how much a van would set me back... i miss my old camper van... shadow and i had a LOT of fun in it... when i met mark, we travelled north america in it.... went 20,000 miles in 3 months.... was a very awesome fun and great learning experience.... perhaps a time machine would be kinda fun... but only for a visit... :D
sooo i was looking in the classifieds... (one NEVER knows ) and lo and behold i found this advertisement hmmmm $59.90 for a van like that?? i wonder if they realize that the ad is wrong!!! but perhaps i should call them and say... i'll pay cash... and get it quick.... seems like a nice van... i'll bet it loves gas ... a LOT......

I saw a bush........

on t.v. this morning....... sometimes a bush needs to be trimmed... shaved as u will....
personally i prefer the bush in the woods... filled with berries, sweet and ripe for the picking...mmmmm huckleberry pie season is coming..... well in a few months :D

Two fat birds........

are sitting on a wire, just above my kitchen window.... all week i've been travelling around and enjoying the early spring feel.... listening to all the different birds in the marshes.... the oregon coast is littered with marshes... it's a wonderful place if your a marsh bird... for now that is..... i'm thinking our 'recession' is a good thing and hopefully the march of building will be curtailed for awhile... a bit of repreave for the animal kingdom.... unfortunately in my marshy travels i've seen more garbage than i have animal/bird life... rather sad don't you think :(
the past week has been pretty nice, not much in the way of rain or clouds, so i've been making up for lost 'good weather' time..... i've been to florence a few times and over to eugene... mmmmm Trader Joe's triple ginger cookies were a high priority... i bought 2 containers of them, for my return trip... and NO i'm not going to eat all of them as i'm driving!!! they are for the family... or so i'm telling myself ;) i bought a container of Trader Joe's low fat yogurt (plain)... i was amazingly suprised at the texture and taste... very good product... the past few mornings breakfast has been Nature's Path pumpkin flax granola, fruit and a generous dollop of yogurt... mmm yummy.... almost reminds me of 30 yrs ago, when it was a daily breakfast ritual of homemade yogurt, fruit and homemade granola.... i'm not much for the bacon/egg platters ... before i came south i'd never eaten the 'hearty oh so not so healthy' bisquits and gravy.... probably just as well... could be dead by now!! to me, it seems like a royal heart attack on a plate
i found some prepackaged 'eggo' type waffles that are pretty good.. gluten free... those are reserved for a sunday morning breaky ...
watched the documovie... Sicko ... a Michael Moore production.... i thought it was pretty good actually... after knowing of a woman who will most likely die because she's exhausted her funds and the 'company' won't let her past the door without cash in hand... grrrrrrrrrrrr... how can that be so, in a country that is so wealthy... how sick is that.... i could rant and rave, but i'm sure it would push up my blood pressure!!!
another week or so and i'll be returning north... just like the snowbird i am... i tell ppl that when i go north, it's a sign that spring is here... at least on the west coast .... poor easterners are buried in the white stuff and no respite yet.... UGHHHHHHHH give me rainnnnnnnnnn and more rainnnnnn... :D

Do i need a.........

title? probably not today, since the weather is semi miserable, the dogs sleepy.. and i'm ... well i don't know... not bored, but especially lazy? i was so lazy i didn't make my own soup...
Wolfgang Puck was the chef today... tomato... no msg and very tasty.... unfortunately not terribly cheap... sighhhh maybe it will be cheaper up north... or not!!

was cruising through Flickr and came across an especially good group that i like.. Extreme Street Photography - 2 Images/Week .... i'm now a member, but haven't submitted a photo yet... sometimes taking street shots is a dangerous occupation... wrong photo of the wrong person... i have a friend who was taking street shots in China Town in Vancouver (canada) and promptly got a cup of hot coffee thrown on him.... if its a close up shot.. ask first!!
